About Kirsty
Kia ora, my name is Kirsty Collins. This page offers insight into my approach, and what makes my practice unique.

My Journey into Psychotherapy
With over 30 years of meditation experience, including dedicated retreat practice, I bring a unique presence, kindness, and wisdom to sessions. My journey to offering psychotherapy has been shaped by extensive experience working with a diverse range of individuals from varied cultural, religious, and spiritual backgrounds, as well as those with different sexual and gender identities. This breadth of experience allows me to foster a truly safe and nurturing space for you to explore whatever is troubling you.
My background as an occupational therapist, with close to 3 decades of counselling experience in both Britain and New Zealand, has provided me with a strong foundation in understanding human well-being. I've also dedicated my time as a volunteer phone counsellor for Youthline and a rainbow helpline in Manchester, UK. My training in Focusing, founded by Gene Gendlin, further enriches my therapeutic toolkit. I am currently undertaking psychotherapy training through ANZAP (Australia and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy).

A Unique Path to Healing
My approach to helping individuals feel better and navigate their challenges is rooted in a deep sense of presence and compassionate attention. I believe in co-creating a therapeutic space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. By drawing upon my extensive meditation practice and therapeutic training, I guide you towards self-discovery and inner resilience. This process allows you to develop a greater understanding of yourself and your experiences, leading to meaningful and lasting change.

What Sets My Therapy Apart
What makes my therapy unique is the integration of my extensive meditation background, varied occupational therapist experience, rainbow helpline service, and my professional psychotherapy training. This allows me to offer a deeply present, mindful, and non-judgmental therapeutic experience.
I am committed to providing low-cost, quality psychotherapy under training and supervision.
My practice is specifically geared towards adults experiencing depression, anxiety, loneliness, burnout, challenges with coming out, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, and stress related to physical health problems.
